Good morning, sunshines. I will re-listen to this record to death today. DNA is probably track of the year.

I'm on the other side, bb. Gotta read deeper into the first half of the record.

Still hold that the production on this is a lot more understated than on TPaB. Kendrick works better with themes on instrumentals like this IMO, so looking forward to reading deeper into things as well. Of course, there are songs like Humble on here, too, but in general.

I have an inclining Fear includes a brief passage off Mortal Man, but I need to check.

I'm with Jiggly as well; as nice as the production is in places the lyrics/wordplay are what keep me interested for the most part

Ive definitly heard the guitar in fear before, probly a sample of a somewhat well-known song

WhoSampled says FEAR. samples this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOl3IJoNJAo

I think that sample is the reaally quiet ambient stuff behind the bulk of the song (which is dope) and a few vocal snippets. I know that guitar sounds familiar tho I swear

That 24-Carat Black album is a forgotten soul gem. Love that FEAR. samples Poverty's Paradise. Kendrick's lyrics are closely related to that song/album's theme at points too.
