Intermission is wonderful, so underrated.

While I love Lateralus and Aenima more, this isn't that lower in terms of quality. Aside from the pointless interludes and some self-plagiarism, it's basically perfect. Also not sure what the point of Wings Part 1 is. And I wish the track order was somehow different after The Pot.

Possibly the greatest album ever if you're tripping on home-made bio mescaline. The implications of the lyrics are woah... and you can FEEL these American landscapes filled with ancestral meaning in the rhythms and guitar sections (so much wonder, soberness and bloodshed - oh, the eternally beautiful North American continent). Maynard comes in and adds tentacular colonial vibes, and for the first time in his life he is an alpha male: the conqueror, the sage and the king. 10k days feels like an inescapable cosmic hurricane threatening the listener's inner peace, it's your ability to make truce with it which determines the real value of this album.

Cant say I love Jambi, but I would rather them open with that instead of Fear Inoculum

I still remember the collassal shrug after the first time I heard Jambi. It does nothing for me and the lyrics are cheesy as fuck. The voicebox solo was cool tho. When I heard them play it live once they slowed the whole song down and weirdly it sounded much better, it reminded me of Eulogy, or something of Aenima.

Uh, duh, I highly doubt anyone would say Fear Inoculum is better.

Nah fear is better. This album has way too much bullshit filler and the vocals on Rosetta Stoned are pure dogshit. Legit trying not to be contrarian, this album has some highlights but a bunch of them feel like Lateralus b sides
