Yea, I always enjoyed Dave's vocals a lot. They rule pretty hard and fit the music perfectly.

he's an objectively poor vocalist but he works for the music he writes and that's a talent in and of itself
e; or at least he used to

"he's an objectively poor vocalist" what does that even mean, it's an art not a science, how can art be objectively poor

As in terms of vocal technique, range and tone. You can objectively judge a good singer without liking their voice and vice versa.

yea, just like you can judge someone's technical proficiency on an instrument, you can judge the vocal capability, and Mustaine is definitely not what you would call a great vocalist from a technical standpoint. but of course it all boils down to how you implement your style in your music and how you deliver it, and how compatible will it be the with listener's taste (that's where subjectivity comes to play). what Mustaine lacked in technique, he more than made up for it with his passionate delivery imo.

confounding technical ability with overall performance is stupid as shit. tom g warrior is an objectively poor guitarist because he doesn't have the mechanical capability of malmsteen? yeah. it's a disease to approach music and other art from a technical viewpoint. "objectively poor", go "objectively" fuck yourselves

have you even read what I said? technical ability is a real thing and it's objective, you like it or not, but it's not what makes a good artist. I look at it as more of a tool for an artist to realize his ideas. nobody said that more technical = better.
