He should focus on the guitars and just put a mic in front of an infant eagle

I wonder how universally popular this album would have been with Blackwater Park-era Mikael Akerfeldt or Grutle Kjellson on vocals...

What? Mikael's vocals wouldn't suite this instrumental in the slightest

Exactly, they may be more universally palatable but in this context it would be a terrible fit. In this hypothetical scenario you can almost guarantee it would be questioned & therefore the result wouldn't be a resounding success.

One of the first steps of the revolution will be to get rid of all the subhumans who look for problems with this album.

So we can have a decent circlejerk.

Hell yeah, looking forward to it. I disagree that they are as good as Vektor, but that band needs mad attention.

I used those 2 vocalists as examples of people who are generally universally praised for their vocals, not as literal replacements for David DiSanto. Also, Black Fast are good but that vocalist gets boring so quickly...

Black Fast look interesting, think I'm going to go on a 'stuff that I might like because I found Vektor binge' catchy huh?

Voivod first though, it just feels wrong any other way.

"Black Fast look interesting, think I'm going to go on a 'stuff that I might like because I found Vektor binge' catchy huh?"

Yeah that's exactly what they are haha. They're a bit less tech too.

Voivod, on the other hand, is a band I never really got into

I don't find straight up thrash particularly interesting thus far (unless it's death/thrash), so need to give tech or prog thrash a chance.

Well you like these guys don't you? Black Fast is just a lighter version I'd say. Less proggy, a bit more straightforward, but still not typical thrash

Well yeah, it's the fact I really like Vektor (& absolutely love this album in particular) that makes me want to explore the subgenre.

I will be listening to this new breed of Vektor-influenced sci-fi tech thrash but not until I've worked backwards & heard a few classics.
