album came up on shuffle. this gets carried hard by vicarious but looking back still has some crazy cool moments. i hate how theres so much instrumental filler stuffed into every track, but FI is literally just the boring parts of 10k days stretched across an entire album

Vicarious and Wings duo are among my very favorite this band has written. Lateralus right there with it.

Can't decide between this and Diplodocus as my favorite Tool album, damn.

Can't believe how much more dynamic and engaged Maynard sounds on this compared to Fear Inoculum. The peaks and valleys on this in Maynard's voice in these songs just destroys all of Fear Inoculum. It really adds so much to the songs, and Fear Inoculum doesn't have any of that at all. It's dynamic, and Fear isn't at all. Fear is like one long song.
