This is a better album, higher production value (best ever within the metal genre), epic presentation, released at the right time (when all other bands pretty much sucked?!).



Fear Inoculum has the best Tool songs easily tho, but it was ruined by the amateurish production and long waiting time. Descending, Invincible and Fear Inoculum live is far more overwhelming than anything from Lateralus.
