i do like it, but i guess it never caught me at a time when i was really depressed/pissed off/stressed or whatever so it doesn't have the emotional resonance that presumably makes it a classic for loads of people

which is kind of a shame but i can still appreciate the songwriting on a more academic level

absolutely, the equivalent of that for me would definitely be the meadowlands, which is

probably my GOAT - maybe if things had been different it'd be this instead, though i'd say this is

some way off the former

Yeah I suppose, this isn't really the kinda album I would listen to try and gain some catharsis or anything, it just perfectly suits those shitty moods knowing that other people can feel as low as I can, I guess. The lyricism on this thing is perfect, it's a fucking shame they threw that aspect of their sound down the shitter with Daisy.

i still maintain that there's plenty of cringeworthy lyrics on here but there's just as many fantastic lines so i guess it balances out

I can't really think of many cringeworthy lyrics on this outside of Handcuffs which Lacey didn't write. All the Lacey songs are fantastic imo, Jesus and Limousine especially.

Yea everything on this album lyrically is relatable in some way shape or form. Jesus Christ's lyrics hit me hard.

Jesus's lyrics are some of the best I've ever heard, and it's one of my favourite songs ever, too.

I KNOW YOU THINK THAT I'M SOMEONE YOU CAN TRUST

BUT I'M SCARED I'LL GET SCARED AND I SWEAR I'LL TRY TO NAIL YOU BACK UP

Same here Mongi. Every time I listen to those lyrics I fall into a small and short depression of sorts that hits me harder every time

Just makes me think man. And I know that a lot of people wouldn't admit it, but I think everyone's

afraid to die alone...

Yeah dude the lyrics to that song are powerful stuff, and I'm an atheist. Lacey is so fucking honest on this that it really does make you think about your own life a lot. Limousine's another incredibly powerful one in that regard.

I don't know what I am religiously. But that line "And I will die all alone" really stands out.
