"WITTR banned moshing at their shows, but Deafheaven opened for BTBAM so everyone was hyped up and throwing their bodies around like crazy."

Violent dancing is not moshing, broseph.

Sorry this is kind of backtracking but they played the whole of the new album and from the kettle... for their main set, which is honestly pretty damn moshable, considering how "thrashy" it is.

There was a lot of stage diving when I saw them too

Same. During their encore members of envy and tribulation were going nuts diving off the stage... It was crazy cool, such a good vibe going.

I just can't imagine going to a Deafheaven show without laughing at at least 30% of the people there.

The audience is pretty weird... There's like straight up hipster kids and prog metal nerds and they all join in harmony to mosh, truly a sight to see ahah.

Um there wasn't, they were just normal people. It's funny how critical you guys are being of hipsters and yet they are supposed to be the judgmental ones

I wonder whether Deafheaven even plays concerts here or whether they're afraid the oldschool non-hipster metal crowds would throw tomatoes at them.

Dude chill, I'm just shooting the shit.

Where I live I'm the type some people call "hipster" (possibly 'cause we don't have too many) due to liking shit like craft beer, lesser known whiskeys & rums and knowing shit about music.

You know it might be kind of fun to go to a DF show and dress up as hipster as possible

hipster is mostly just a fashion thing now, isn't it? Kids in tight pants and those weird hats smashing into each other sounds like an odd sight to see :3

So basically a "bad taste" party at a concert? Actually an intriguing concept.

There was a pretty diverse mix of people at the Deafheaven show, while i felt most absorbed in the experiance at the calmer nature of the crowd in the Tribulation set. Honestly though i saw everyone having fun at the deafheaven set so that pretty much is all that matters.

There's always a weird mix of people at any show in SLC. This show was no different.

This album got me into the band and it blew me away. Never heard anything like it before. I also had a chance to see these guys live and let me tell you, I have since been reborn.
