“A great album for those who love just the same iteration with nothing new to speak of for the tenth time. It's literally no different than someone loving call of duty when it's the same thing every single time.”

I mean hilarious, knowing the kind of music you do enjoy

This album is yummy, especially the 2nd half. The run from Beyond Repair to Gilded Cage could make a perfect EP.

Just listened to this and axe to fall back to back while driving and honestly it makes me want to bump my rating for this a whole point DOWN, and axe to fall isn't even in my top 3 converge (okay maybe its 3rd), but DAMN it has so much more character than this

Tbf Axe is fs the better album, by a noticeable margin, I'd say.

Honestly I like this more than Axe to Fall… I completely disagree man. After the first few tracks the album blends together so much up until Cruel Bloom

Axe to fall is definitely better. Way more of a visceral and unique record.

Idk to me Axe feels like their most dynamic amongst the track listing. So much meat to chew on every track even the shorter ones. This is more like a refinement of everything up to this point in a nice concise package. Not as adventurous but it's exactly what I needed at this point in time.

Yeah axe is better than this to me, but we will see how time treats this one. The opening 4 songs is such a relentlessly sick stretch. Made me feel like I was listening to mid 2000s converge again

Yeah I don’t really see how it’s more visceral, this is maybe Jacob’s most varied performance, he actually sounds fucking phenomenal here… I think he’s way better on this record than Axe to Fall, which, and I’ve said this a million times before, he has that kind of monotone bark that he had on No Heroes. Instrumentally/songwriting wise it’s for sure more dynamic, there’s obv nothing here as out there as Cruel Bloom or Wretched World, but not only do I think the shorter tracks here have more of a punch, Cutter is really the only song that even comes close imo, but I honestly think the sludgier tracks are better too. I’ve always liked Worms Will Feed but I’d take Amon Amok and Gilded Cage over it any day.

And ya sorry guys, I really don’t like Damages much. It’s a fine song on its own but it really might be my least favorite Converge song of the later years at the very least.
