I’ve heard it like 4 or 5 times and he gets Eminem levels of cheesy on it multiple times. The stupid voices. The fairly shallow attempts at consciousness compared to earlier work. Bruh, We Cry Together sucked so much ass. Literally the Kodak interludes were some of the best music on the album, which is wild to me.

Not necessarily. lol Though I do believe “Off me like Huuuuu” was a new low. The songs I really love on Damn make good use of his voice imo. DNA, Element, Yah, XXX, and Duckworth aren’t doing a ton of cartoon shit.

I think U is a phenomenal song instrumentally and in terms of production. To the point of undeniability from my pov. The bottle sound isn’t nearly as overstated as Drift makes it sound. I could see where the voice cracky flow could annoy people but it’s a really cathartic moment on the album for me. Also, Game is inferior to peak Kendrick in just about every way apart from just his voice’s timbre, which is better, but that’s just genetics.

oh i definitely still like it and the lyrics are amazing but those are my issues with it lol. but fr Start from Scratch and Doctor's Advocate are classic drunken flow songs that Kendrick was def inspired from. it's just infuriating to see a lot of people act like kendrick was the first. game probably wasn't even the first but to me he owns it
