hate how good this is ugh LOL

guessing the low rating average here is less cause of the album and more manson himself?
|
| |
Likely, I liked this album quite a bit

Probably! Which is fucking bullshit. We’re rating albums and music, not making a political statement or rating artists by their fucking morality lol. That’s just a moronic reason to rate an album low. Plenty of musical artists aren’t saints. I would say…most??

been listening to this since it got bumped, as i've not jammed in a while, and it's still amazing. a good blend of heavy and blusey manson.

This album shows so much promise. Very good structure and songwriting. I’m so excited for the follow up, because this is so close to being fantastic

Finally getting the chance to see Marilyn Manson this weekend. A bit bummed looking at the setlist that I dont think anything off of this, We Are Chaos or the Pale Emperor will make the setlist. I get it though.. festivals makes more sense for him to stick to the first 5 albums, but still a bit bummed.

Yeah I saw him when he toured with five finger death punch ( we left before FF came on) and it was a solid ass show, but seed just shy of a full set. TBH I was ok with it as it was somehow my first Manson show so I kinda liked finally seeing his greatest hits more or less live. Angel with the Scabbed Wings baby.

When he was drinking and doing drugs all the time his live show tanked really hard, it's kind of crazy how much he's bounced back live since he got clean

@art I will let ya know.
@larkin good call dipping out before FF lol
I am a relatively new Manson fan. I remember in middle school/high school having a song (s)aint and the Beautiful People on my iPod but never listened beyond those. Got into him during the Pale Emperor and then dug We Are Chaos and the newest album.
have never really spent much time listening to his first few albums, but going to change that this week before seeing him.

Manson has been utterly killing it live nowadays. Was very grateful to meet him and express how much his music impacted me. Also NIYU has been a regular set opener so there's definitely hope!

Good call, he will open with NIYU, but nothing more. Was hope hoping to get as sick of the secrets

Yeah he was sober when I saw him and he killed it.
@feather — yeah Antichrist and Mechanical are his best, with Holywood and We Are Chaos closely behind. I’d slot this next. I’m 44 so was def around when he blew up, but unf was in high school and was more the type to fuck with the kids who listened to him (I was into Pantera, tool, Deftones, Alice In Chains, soundgarden etc). But I grew up. Always liked Tourniquet and read his book back in the day (prob high school) and loved it, always respected him, but yeah the Manson and slipknot kids were a bit too edgelord for me then. I like both now though. Started listening to Manson and Slipknot in my late 20s.

I haven't been crazy for his music since Pale Emperor, I was mostly into the old stuff. The new stuff is just okay but doesn't hit the same way. Manson has a lot of deep cuts that hit hard
