I'd take Sanguinary and Psalms both over this but its still a hard 5. Best dm band ever. Sanguinary is on another level for me though. Top 3 dm of all time.

Very good rec Nex! Borderline slam at some points but it never crosses the line completely so it's all good for me haha. Best Brutal Death EP is still Despondency's "Excruciating Metamorphosis". Another German BDM band with sheer amounts of technical and creative genius among the pummeling brutality.

I was in this boat but I think Chronicles edges those out slightly. Sanguinary has slightly more character and wonky riffs and build ups, but Chronicles just brings the technicality and brutality better than maybe anything I've heard.

Despondency are top-shelf, agreed. Matriphagy was top 3 techy bdm of '24 for me, only surpassed by this and the magnificent alien vibe of Wormed's Omegon. If you haven't checked it yet, you definitely should. Just gave that EP you mentioned some spins, and it rules expectedly hard.
