What do you expect from a djent pop thread 😆 for real this band is one of the more solid ones and it’s very replayable.

Is it weird that Secret Garden reminds me of an Anberlin song?

Saying something reminds you of something is never weird
Saying something sounds like something is entirely up for debate

Well they’re both totally different genres that’s why haha. This album manages to cross over into that sort of pop rock in that song.

i’ve seen people describe it as if Garbage went heavy... and i’d say it’s not far off, Courtney sounds a bit like Shirley Manson on these songs

I was very skeptical of this "new direction". Thought Spiritbox would pull an Architects and lean too far in a more melodic, streamlined direction. Thankfully, I was wrong. "Rotoscope" sounds like the more accessible side of Code Orange mixed with a WWE Pay-Per-View theme song, yet still rips your balls off at times. "Sew Me Up" sounds like if "Secret Garden" drop-tuned and was released off a Deftones album. "Hysteria" is moody, menacing, and comes complete with a mental breakdown at the end.
Overall, very impressed. Spiritbox didn't throw the baby out with the bath water and I am very excited for future material.
