Lol he’s really not. He does good music reviews, people just flip out when he doesn’t like stuff because he has a pretty large audience

The thing is that the "busiest music nerd" is often too busy for the really good stuff.

he has p bad taste in metal mostly now tho, his reviews lately are flimsy. it's kind of obvious he grew out of it and grasps for any reason why he doesn't like metal albums sometimes. and his taste in production has always been horrible, he likes production that assaults your senses

That review sucks and I'm mad (and Wald)

I don't know if there's anything in the world that I care less about than what some random content streamer has to say about anything

How tf do you "grow out" of metal?

Man, every time this album finishes I feel like I could immediately listen to it again.

@PP: I kind of get it. It used to be the only thing I ever listened to as a teen (with the odd album from a different genre), yet nowadays it is almost the other way around. Almost never listen to metal anymore, with the occasional spin of an old-time classic, a nostalgia trip or some cool new stuff (like this).

It certainly happens to some of us.

Agreed with Trif, there were a couple of years when I rarely listened to metal

tbh it really feels like fantano is increasingly grasping at straws in his metal reviews to try to find some objective justification why he doesn't like those albums without admitting to himself he just isn't that into metal anymore. with some exceptions like new Boris (not my name, since I'm Wald)

"This is just so uninspired. Every black metal cliche is jammed into this thing but stretched out to a nearly unbearable two hours. How y’all can jerk off to this is completely beyond me. Interesting black metal does exist, I promise. You don’t have to torture yourselves with this mind numbing drivel"

Yeah, I checked it out again and found it incredibly dull and uninspired, like you said. It drags like a motherfucker, 2 hours of this is just too much. Had to take it down to a 3.
