I love ballads. 90% of what I listen to is ballads.
That's why if I don't like ballads something's up

"Fogza, also note how these guys are super serious about this, like it's actually important."
Lol, to be fair, me arguing the point puts me in the same boat, so I'm not going to be all hypocritical up in here.

This being rated top 10 of the year by the critical consensus does elevate discussion of this album into the realms of the serious tho
If this had a 65% average on Metacritic I'd leave you bros to it

Indeed. Some days I feel I am the only person having fun in here. But it's good eatin'.
'I don't like Tool, so that proves I'm not intimidated by strong women.' I mean, that's a laugh, innit.

Your fun really does read like someone not having fun
Just so you get why everyone your interacting with is a bit nonplussed by your OTT reactions

I think its called attention seeking

Yeah, I get you don't hate ballads, but I don't honestly think this sounds like the latest Ed Sheeran song about being perfect. And there's personal stuff worked in here despite the constructed persona.

The fact this is so highly rated means it's in my thirty most played albums of the year...
The Tool, Baroness and National albums are also in that list and all 2.5 ratings from me.
So it hasn't been for the lack of trying with a lot of the 'big releases' this year - just been a disappointing year for them imo

fogza - yeah, well ES style ballads would be a 0.5. This is an album with songs that rate between 2 and 3.5, just a few more on the 2-2.5 range. If I liked every song as much as I do the first three songs it might have got a 3.5.

- Whatchu been doing today doof luv?
- Been fighting on the cultural frontline again. Important stuff, you wouldn't understand.
|
| |
Eg - if you find a woman who not only understands but loves your obsessions and foibles then all power to you - but sure, my wife knows I spend a lot of time listening to tunes and chatting here
I don't work Fridays anymore which is nice, and a lot of the time I can listen to stuff at work/work from home - my ambitions have always been more along the work/life balance that works for me as long as it pays decent.

That seriousness in my kryptonite. *changes settings*
Sounds good, doof. Everyone should have at least 3 days off. Also I never talk to my gf about sputnik, it's waaaay too much male drama for her.
|
| |
I more just chat to her about music and sometimes I'll talk a little about sput reaction.
She's a good one though, I still do mixtapes for her and she slowly gets into stuff, and she enjoys a gig.
Getting into new stuff takes her a lot longer than me but that's hardly surprising.

Aww that's sweet. Sneak Cinnamon Girl into your next one and see what happens.
The musical interactions at this place is me liking her hippie fairy music like Caprice (RU) or Omnia or some etheral being caressing a harp - and her complaining I play black metal too loud.

Rule 1: if a girl isn't metal don't ever play metal to her

Oh she is. We can meet on a few artists (First Wintersun is sorta like *our* album), but from there she veers into gothic like Nightwish and Evanescence and other unlistenable things like that.
