"still very upset nobody's done an actual surf bm album."
i'm pretty sure shataan's foot print album had a very prevalent surf rock feel, but I don't remember it's been awhile

For those interested, some unreleased material from the late 80s has got an official release (not the bootleg) and balders has three extra tracks on the new version

I don't know if the Burzum / Uruk-Hai split was a wise choice to be released... it was a pretty poor recording, only interesting for the historical importance.
Btw, Balder's Dod now contains uncle Varg's techno songs? Hahaha.

the dude that is releasing uruk has the proper recordings apparently, so be of good quality. it's the same dude that runs the burzum museum page on insta and facebook

Hmmm. I'm interested, but without hearing it, I don't think I dare to invest in ordering them.

From what I gather, these are a very limited run and I don’t think it’s a conventional release (i.e. Spotify etc), which is why I took the plunge on them both. Hopefully I don’t get burned haha

I may review Uruk if it creates a strong opinion, one way or the other

This is why I'm a little bit doubtful about them. But if they're are serious releases, I really hope Darkness Shall Rise Records shall do a cassette tape edition from both.

I have now heard this. Not sure why as I didn’t really dig the other Burzum I’d previously heard. Surprisingly palatable for lo-fi black metal. Also rather repetitive/dull at times. Hmm.
