I don’t think the vox are nearly as quiet as I feared they would be

as always reading along with MWY's lyrics at the same time is a trip. I had no idea Flee was set like a script. it's so cool

The subdued mixing of the vocals is obviously a nod to second wave bm.

I am absolutely so floored by this, that I legitimately have no words right now. I have to let this digest for a little while, overwhelmed and overstimulated, holy shit. HOLY SHIT.
HOLY

Man what is this? Never even heard of this band but it sounds like this album is great.
What type of music is this? Fav bands are Tool, Deftones, Chevelle, Alice In Chains, Alice In Chains etc. Woukd this be something I’d like.

It doesn’t sound anything like them tbh. Deftones is closest but that’s mainly because Julia reminds me of them with the shoegazey vibes. If you like Deftones, dip into Julia. It reminds me a bit of Around the Fur, like Be Quiet and Drive in a sense. If this is your first mwY album, it’s probably not a good start album wise since Julia is the only song like that on here and none of the rest sound like this. The closest band I can think of to this is Brand New and even then comparisons are kinda stretched

Honestly I feel there's no other band that sounds like this. Sometimes I see people make comparisons between this band and La Dispute, but apart from maybe vocal delivery (and even that's a stretch imo) I don't really hear it. That said I do think they're both great bands.
