This is absolutely one for the dry ice crowd, practically got the leery "I don't just listen to metal, but-" Chelsea Wolfe demographic in a vicegrip
is enough of a gateway album for drone/neoclassical darkwave that its appeal goes further, but the gratification it offers defs has its claws in the same flank as your eyeliner metal acts

Ms. Hausswolff has sang on a Wolves in the throne room record and toured with Swans so it's no surprise she appeals to a large audience.
But Wolff and Wolfe don't belong in the same discourse I believe, completely different artists.

dry ice crowd = anyone who goes in hard for gothic-adjacent smoke n mirrors aesthetic that they dish out at Sgthaus
and AVH and Chelsea Wolfe have all manner of stylistic and songwriting differences, but it's indisputably true that they share an audience - any look through the ratings itt is enough for that. only further debate is over how proportionate that audience is to their overall fanbase (and even then, we're in the league of big fractions)

oh yeah, definitely agree that they share an audience, both have that aesthetic that would have got them burnt in Salem.
About Sgthaus, Wolfe left the label last year, her new album is coming up on Loma Vista (will she tour with Ghost now? oh frack!), so I guess SgtHouse ran out of dry ice, unless The Armed go gothic eyeliner metal on the next thump.
