I wouldn't because it's not even a competition... but regardless..
I never did until some clown started talking about pneuma. I Clearly stated this album is a poor man's version of MovMous S/T. Why? Cuz the two albums are very similar.

this clown said everything past Pneuma was boring, Pneuma is a great album. you initially made the MM comparison, so you just lmfao rofl gtfo yourself.

Their s/t is one of the most underrated albums I've ever heard but I digress.
This is a shell of pbtt

Nah, it's really not a shell at all. It's the most reasonable cycle these guys could go through in terms of the subject matter they've covered but I'm not gonna rewrite my review.
Major complaints on this album:
-it's boring
-no screams
-no passion
-no atmosphere
Counterpoints
-boring is relative, and while the mood of the album has simmered, the content is just as profound and heavily linked to the last two albums
-There's no more screaming needed. Kyle's acceptance of his father's death is on full display here in covering the subject of love in all forms.
-Passion is literally one of the overarching themes of the album, from discussing his wife having their first child, to the intimacy between forbidden lovers, to the discoveries of traits in Durfey's father being present in his own son
-Bay of Dreams in and of itself has more atmosphere (not to mention Bitter Red, Blue, or Manila) than TLLA, which to me, while not to underscore the weight of the issues at play in the album, comes off as a wall of sound that is largely relentless and lacking in any sort of ebb & flow.
People get miffed at this album because it's not previous albums, which is such a ridiculous reason to call it shite. If they'd listen to it for what it is, a natural evolutionary cycle of recovering from loss, they'd realize that LOVE is the way forward from that.
MARS is about the only one here that disagrees with most of what I say and has compelling & just reason to do so.

Yeah, I like this a lot as well. Bitter Red is one of the best PBTT songs and gets me to the brink of tears every time.

There's nothing from this album in terms of songwriting that even comes close to Hudson.

it's quite amazing how hopelust managed to list multiple completely subjective arguments and then actually ACCUSING everyone here for not liking this album for subjective reasons
like dude it's understandable that you're pissed because not everyone is getting the same feelings from this album as you but it doesn't mean it's not "just" to not feel the delivery boring, passionless, lacking of atmosphere or whatnot

Let's all be honest here, WFL can't compare to The Lack and Keep You. That's all. I still like it but it's just not good enough.

"...but it doesn't mean it's not "just" to not..."
Artuma, I think I get what you're saying and I'm fairly certain you have a point, but I lost you at the triple negative there.
