Listened through a few times and it's definitely really good. I think this and Tragedy are better but not by much. The opener and closer don't do much for me, unfortunately so that's kind of a bummer, but tracks 2 - 9 are all top notch Counterparts.

Interested to keep listening since their albums tend to be growers.

Honestly, I believe the opener and the closer are rather perfect. Especially the title track is something different for them with this post rock ambient kind of thing

Looking at their whole disc it's absolutely impressive how god damn consistent these guys are.

It's in my sound off but I just don't listen to Counterparts for songs that are literally just one long open chug 000--000--00 breakdown. The opener sounds like something you could find on literally any metalcore album of the last ten years.

Closer is by no means bad but I think the closers of their last three albums all top it.

Current is a bit underrated. Shouldn't be the lowest average for sure. Great song structure and incredible energy.

Songs like The Constant, Jumping Ship are just epic. And it has this (straight edge?) positive bent to the lyrics that give it a different feeling than everything that came after it.

Anyway stoked for this new one.

There's no question marks about it; Jumping Ship is straight up about people breaking edge, lol.

That being said, Brendan at least definitely isn't edge anymore, and that's okay. It's just a song. I think the band has been pretty open about how they've individually and collectively changed over the years.

I don't think they ever advertised themselves as a 'straightedge band,' but they predominantly had members that were straightedge for their first 2 albums at least, if I recall correctly.

I have yet to listen to it besides the singles and Love Me. Still waiting on that CD leak.

I hear from alot of people that Your Own Knife is a fucking ripper, so I'm quite excited for that one.
