First 2 seconds into the new one. Yep, it’s definitely Fleet Foxes

definitely my least favorite on first listen. really polished and pleasant, but it doesnt even have the sort of experimentation that helplessness blues did, nor the pastoral vibes of the debut. not sure how itll age for me

It’s irritating as fuck and instantly forgettable but will work it’s charm and become pleasant to the point you become obsessed with it for about a month before disposing of it and never playing it again. Yep it’s definitely Fleet Foxes.

So after a full dedicated spin, Shore sounds like a million bucks, but I can't help thinking that it should have appeared between Helplessness Blues and Crack Up. It does feel a bit odd following Crack Up. Not a regression so much as a retreat to their poppier, simpler stuff - whereas Crack Up is infinitely more challenging and inventive. Still, I think Shore will reveal itself to be a stunner with subsequent plays; there's already a lot to love about it.

Fleet Foxes are one of those groups I've always meant to get into and never did. This new album is fucking great, though. Super excited to work through their discog now

Shore is excellent, almost as good as HB and this. My favorites are Sunblind, Featherweight, Quiet Air / Gioia, Going-to-the-Sun Road, and Cradling Mother, Cradling Woman. The whole album is very nice, but it really comes alive in the last 5 songs.

You're gonna want to listen to it regardless if you're a Grizzly Bear fan, but it's more similar to this album's progressive chamber folk sound than anything by Grizzly Bear.
