Okay? Stop trying to take the attention away from your shitty, unthinking comment.

Fine.

Anywho, I suppose we should start posting more on topic. I'm thinking of pushing my rating for this up to a 3.

I think after 36 pages on comments we all comprehend that this album is pretty bad...however I'm still posting a comment to say that it's bad. I love irony.

2/5

this album has its alright parts. i like the intro to frantic. they had some cool guitar riffs, unfortunetly the vocals were just painful to listen to in some of the songs. the tin can drums acually go along with some of the songs. the production just sucked because of bob rocks mixing for a metal cd.

I think this album is being battered to hard bye people i will admit it had be one of or atleast metallica's worst album.

But it introduced an old side of metallica a side they have not shown in years and that is to be heavy and angry and to piss people off that's how the band started and they have tried to replicate this but they tried to hard. Imagine St anger was the first album you herd bye metallica it would sound pretty good and you wouldnt be comparing it to there other music.

i think there next album after this will be alot better they will realise what they have done right and wrong. But still stick to there goal of being loud of heavy the way metallica startedThis Message Edited On 10.24.06This Message Edited On 10.24.06

well i think the album wasnt that bad it was their worse album but that doesnt mean it sucked. and for the solos kirk did want to put solos in and actually had solos prepared for every song but some dumbass ( *cough* Bob Rock *cough*) said the way he wanted the album to go was without solos. all in all the cd is a headbangers paradise but does get repetitive. oh well at least they firede bob rock and can now get back to their old selves (can anybody say Solos!!!!!) yeah i give it a 3.5/5

I wish i could have given this a negative score, it really isn't deserving of a one or even zero score.

I have said this before, and I guess I am writing it again. This album doesn't suck completely. I like this album for what it's worth. It has its good tracks. I guess to each his own.

I think tihs album is pretty freakin weak, but it has some moments. theres parts of invisible kid and shoot me again where i like the vocals... however the bad vastly outweighs the good.

for those who rated this above a 3.5, youre crazy

ill be honest, i kinda like the album, and while that doesnt mean i think its better than AJFA, ill give it a listen evry once in a while. the thing that i noticed is that every single song is in drop c tuning, so every song is in the same damn key, so theres the repetative nature right there. i think they consiously looked a popular rock and stuff now and tried to conform to the way things were being done, instead of doing what they felt was right. so there are some good stuff on here when you lalk in terms of music in general, but in terms of metallica it kinda = suk. but thats just me

Many of Metallica's albums have been in the same key, so that's no excuse for this particular album being repetitive. They definitely didn't comform to modern rock, as there aren't very many popular bands with this type of sound. I'll agree that there is some good stuff on this album, but very, very little.

meh, they did conform, or atleast tried to. I hate to use the phrase "sell out" but it's almost as though they did, starting with the Black Album (dont get me wrong i like the black album). But they definitely changed to a more modern sense of rock.

I have never managed to listen through this in one sitting. There are odd tracks which I like. But as an overall musical experience St Anger is painful.
