I think James really steals the show here.

Yeah like the songs rely on his vocals a lot more here then they do on every non-90's album

I think James might be more melodic vocally than he's ever been on this album.

I don't listen to metal anymore, and this doesn't make me miss it at all.

The riff at 6:04 in Halo of fire sounds like an Alexisonfire song and moth into flame is such a blatant rip off of ride the lightning urghh

Is it just me or are they playing it faster live?

definitely faster live. I'm pretty sure Lars has had to ditch the double pedal live for it.

Same deal with Atlas, Rise. Playing it faster than the studio version, and James doesn't have time to breathe to yell RIIIIISEEE, it's sounding pretty weak because of it

"I don't listen to metal anymore", yet your user name is one of the heaviest things NIN has ever done

I could only get through 3 or 4 songs before I couldn't put up with James anymore. The music itself was mostly pretty good but the lyrics/vocals combination killed it for me.
Still, it's nice to see people having good things to say about them again, even if I can't myself.

I wish people were calling it St Anger pt 2, as in, I wish it were that bad because it's fun to hate on Metallica.

Well shit, i have to admit this album is damn good. James owns it in every direction and I feel like it has real attitude behind it. Took a bit to grow, but a lot of the songs are revealing themselves and I have had multiple stuck in my head since this came out.

How is this not trending, is it because the average is too low?
