I won't pretend to understand it, but the level of conviction it's spoken with makes me trust that it's a true statement.

I believe that line has something to do with the birth of his daughter and her birth saving his life, with a macbeth reference thrown in

best i could find was this reddit comment

“If you weren't aware, this song was written when Keith's wife was going "hospital to hospital" when she was pregnant with their daughter, due to some complicated medical problems that were threatening both their lives. At least I hope I'm remembering that correctly.

But in classic ETID fashion, there's a Shakespearean reference dropped in there for good luck, or whatever. "Untimely ripped into this world, I was born again as a girl."

From "Macbeth," Macduff, who is pursuing Macbeth in order to kill him, but Macbeth says he cannot be killed by "any man born of a woman." Fortunately for Macduff, "from his mother’s womb / Untimely ripped" (5.10.15-16) is in reference to the fact that he was born of a C-Section, and thus able to kill Macbeth.”

Now that I think about it. So his Daughter was born when he felt like absolute shit right?

Is it not just an allusion to how he suddenly had something to live for? - Converge - A Single Tear style

I think the whole album was written when he wasn't sure if his wife or daughter were going to live. Probably plays a big part in why there is almost no humor in it.

Was his wife possibly dying during childbirth? I don't really know the story behind it. Glad everything is alright though

I don’t remember exactly but I’m pretty sure there was a point where they weren’t sure if the baby was going to live, I’m not so sure about his wife.

his wife had a life-threatening pregnancy complication and it seems like both lives, her and the baby's, were in danger
