Sextape is good but I'd be lying if I said I'd have it high up on a track-by-track ranking for that album

the biggest problem with post-snw deftones is how formulaic they have become. like 90% of their songs stick so hard to the radio friendly verse chorus bridge chorus whatever thing it actually comes off like they are catering to useless people who dont know anything about music

risk is bomb, love how chill the chorus is compared with the riff

hmm i know some stuff about music but don't hate standard verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus song structure

its one of the best on that album for sure

tbh at least with this crap album its not like, offensively crappy

actually that might be a bad thing. like i dont even have strong feelings about it other than that it is just like mad boring and i have no desire to like ever even bother with it ever again

with diamond eyes it took me a period of cold unbelieving digestion before the rage set in and i realized that it is offensively terrible

"hmm i know some stuff about music but don't hate standard verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus song structure "

im not saying there is anything inherently wrong with that structure, im just saying that when every single one of your songs follow that structure it sounds like you are either poor uncreative musicians or that you think your audience is too retarded to understand anything else.

i will concede that anything past SNW in the Deftones' catalog will not blow any minds, outside of the hardcore Deftones fan.

yes i know you think that clearly i dont

but yeah i feel that it at least earns some kind of merit for getting a strong emotional reaction from me even if its a negative one. this one got like no reaction from me whatsoever and thats worse in a sense.

i just realized the irony in the fact that a 'straight edge' is a tool as well as a lifestyle choice
