Judging bands soley on their entire discog means nothing.
Is there a run of classics? As a band did they expand boundaries and change the 'norm' so there was a seismic shift in tastes and what was created by others?
Does the band remain timeless for personal reasons that extend to the general consensus?
Floyd tick all the boxes, just cos a few albums are bobbins detracts not one bit from who they were, what they are or who they become.
This applies to any band unless they sell out on their ideals and/or compromise.

aurally, the final cut is pretty good, I like it, and it matches the subject matter amazingly. the lyrics are fucking incredible, it will haunt me til the day I die
