I feel like everybody just assumes pop music is bad by default. Like it has to prove to you that it's not absolute garbage. I get the people that assume all music is shitty but it's so strange to see 95% of people only do it for artists like Taylor Swift or Beyonce or Lorde etc. etc.. I just think it's good. The songs are well written, she has a really good voice, a lot of it is catchy and her lyrics (while occasionally pretty stupid) are mostly really good. She's a 20something year old hot girl who dates a lot, and she writes about what she knows. It's a great sounding album that doesn't have any cheesy production strategies like Red did.
(and for the record I adore I Knew You Were Trouble but how glad are we all that there isn't any more of that on this album?)

tbh the problem i have with a lot of pop albums is the only thing to go off of is catchiness. that's fine most of the time but there's really no substance here beyond those hooks (which are for the record, amazing).
