Yeah, growling certainly strains your vocal chords to an unhealthy extent. I also can't imagine him growling on a new album, but live he still can and will pull it off I think...

I don't really feel like paying to see In Flames open for them too and get a shortened setlist, I'd rather see them on a solo
tour and get the full experience.

In Flames is the perfect name for that band

Incorrect. Harsh vocals damage you if you do it wrong like I did. I did a few tech death vocals songs for a local band, and I can barely scream, only growl. It didn't matter for how long I did it.

A good decision. Many mediocre-to-bad recent releases aside, IF still puts on an outstanding show and a bare
bones setlist would just feel so wrong.

I've barely listened to In Flames. I was talking about their presence shortening Opeth's setlist, but you're right in any case.

^ yea it sucks. fucking coheadlining bullshit. it seems like at the start of this tour Opeth had full sets. but lately I seem to be seeing more of the shorter sets

I wouldn't either, only if they play old material, but they probably don't and Siren Charms was just awful.

I still love all of this equally. Just not at much as damnation, and certainly not their metal.

Weren't you all saying that Elysian Woes was one of the worst songs on the album when this dropped...?

I did, but I think the only consensus was Cusp was the worst.

Eternal Rains, Elysian, and Faith are probably my favorites on here now and have aged the best. Some others like Moon and River have some great stuff too.

I haven't jammed this in a while... I assume my rating would probably drop to a 3.5 or something. Musically, there's nothing bad with any of the songs here in my opinion, it's just most of them lack some deepness.
