I just don't like prog and thrash for the most part, Scheumke. The two worst subgenres to exist in metal, in my opinion. Besides the castrate vocals here are really off putting.

Agreed with you on the Thrash part, could never get into that either. Prog is just so diverse though and the one genre where artists are always trying to push the boundaries. Yeah there's a lot of shite and uninspired stuff there, and too much widdlywiddly-wankywanky, but there's also GOAT tier stuff that would never have existed without the progressive influences.
