"how does performing with a gay guy mean you're not homophobic lol"

It shows that you don't hate gay people, and haying gay people is kinda what homophobia is in a nutshell

homophobic - unreasoning fear of or antipathy toward homosexuals and homosexuality.

saying the F word does not amount to having fear or antipathy towards homosexuals or homosexuality. You might think its disrespectful, and it may be, but don't use words where they don't belong.

"you can hate gay people while still being willing to perform with them tho"

But what about someone as openly gay as Elton John?

Also no, Em is not homophobic, he just does it to rustle peoples' jimmies

something important all of you are missing by being unnecessarily negative to eminem for no reason, is eminem probably made hip hop a more tolerant place for gay people than any other artist.

no other artist used their time in the spotlight to specify what they meant when they said "fag", no one constantly claimed that gay people are welcome in hip hop.

hip hop actually was a homophobic genre, and it came about by the same kind of shit eminem went through, people would just be treated as subhuman because they were called fags, no one questioned the logic.

eminem deserves credit for stepping back and being like 'hey guys lets make it clear we aren't actually talking about gay people, cuz some people are taking that seriously'

Idk man, some of the stuff he did under Slim Shady specifically called out gays, could you explain how he made hip hop more tolerant?

"you can hate gay people while still being willing to perform with them tho"

cool hypothetical example bro, but thats not what were talking about.

i didnt say every single time a gay guy gets on stage with a straight person it means he isn't homophobic.

what i did say was when eminem was one of the most popular music artists in history, and was being demonized as a homophobe on a level that no artist has EVER seen, he did what everyone knew at the time was a symbolic gesture to show he is not anti-gay

not to mention, the thousands of interviews where he states plainly "i dont hate gay people"

would you stop arguing just to hear yourself talk?
