I got a hold of this in FLAC and converted it into Mp3 320. I know I was hard on the production before, but it's somewhat servicable now. Everything floating around pre-release was definately lower quality.
The production is still muddy(especially because of the emphasis on the sloppy low end), but the clarity is certainly better than what I previously heard. It's still anyoying and ultimately detracts from the expirence.
At least now I can FINALLY focus on the MUSIC. Well... for the most part =)

"and also, this is not hardcore. What you're describing in your rants as music with open-chord breakdowns and two-steps is nu-metalcore (also known as 'scenecore' or 'shitcore'). I have reason to believe that you have never actually heard what hardcore punk sounds like."
Nu-metalcore? And yes, I'm well aware of what Hardcore punk sounds like -- Refused and Fugazi are the first that comes to mind.
And by hardcore I was of course refeering to "post-hardcore" but that term is so damn vague nowadays that it wasn't really describing Letlive's sound in any way, shape of form.

neither refused nor fugazi are hardcore punk really but siqq name drops

people are being bugged by the production but no one mentions the partially cringe-worthy lyrics? c'mon, people.
also, what in the actual fvck of ernst röhm's vinyl affairs is nu-metalcore?

we've mentioned that before. never expanded it all that much though.

well, I haven't seen it on the last few pages and as people here also rave about artists who do shitty production (partially on purpose) I just thought they should be a bigger focal point considering how cliché and lame some of them are.
I mean I get rappers doing that sorta stuff, but lyrics are kind of their thing. (not on the same level though obviously)

might have been on another review, there's like 5 of them now. I agree with you though, I just find the whole entire experience very distasteful, especially those cheesy "clean" choruses.

Idk, production bugged me the least apart from instrumentation. poppy choruses would be alright if they weren't mostly these awfully dumb lyrics. like, if something HAS to be stuck in someone's head - why remind them that what you have to say is lame/worthless/obsolete/[insert smilar adjectives]?

boom, the poppy choruses annoy me so much because it reminds me of when I used to listen to post-hardcore and all of those really high pitched singers, ugh. in fact, a lot of this reminds me why I don't listen to post-hardcore anymore.

cygnatti I'm glad I didn't know you a while ago it seems like you've evolved haha
and yeah I dunno where Chan gets off trying to defend the lyrics here talking about how awesome they are because they deal with Big Topics, like Race and Social Issues lol... let's just forget that they're still idiotic and vapid, even more so because they try to appear otherwise

This so hard. Just because anything deals with "big" or "important" topics doesn't mean it actually has any merit - especially if I can hear basically the same stuff from any big movement hypocrite like Occupy hipsters who have apparently enough money for macs and shitloads of weed. (and can't do anything else beside erect straw-men - no shit nobody takes a movement seriously with a majority of dipshits dominating it)

dun werry, I spelt my name the right way -- anyone that ends it with a 'k' is a poseur
