Valtari is so much better than Med sud for me. Med sud is just so immediately digestible, but one of my favorite things about Sigur Ros is that their albums are worth listening to again and again because you get to hear and appreciate new things every time. I get almost none of that with Med sud, but a ton of it with Valtari, even if it isn't quite as excellent as Agaetis and ( ). TBH, I get that same sort of immediacy problem with this album, but it's just so well-executed that I don't find it to be near as much of a problem here. But I do like Valtari more than this.

med sud is their most inconsistent release, agree. Although it has Festival, which is definitely in their top 5 tracks. I can't say i feel the same way about Kveikur as i feel about Takk and () though
