Yeah Powerslave is prob my fav Maiden album BUT, Back in the Village has always been a filler to me. And Somewhere In Time, Stranger in a Strange land, filler track. Whereas here, no song seems like a filler.

Just my opinion of course : )

Even if you would consider those filler, I find them much better than a few of the track on here like Can I Play With Madness, the Evil that Men Do, and The Prophecy. The concept album format probably makes them feel more important to the album overall

Yeah still good songs for sure. Hard to beat Powerslave tho, Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnight, T/T and Rime of the Ancient Mariner all on one album. Can't beat that haha

Yea and personally I think Back In the Village riffs too hard to be filler. Also Somewhere In Time was my first Maiden and I love the cyberpunk vibe and heavy ethereal-sounding guitar reverb so that one does a lot for me

Aces High and 2 Minutes to Midnight is probably best 1 2 punch they have ever done.

But The Evil that Men Do is the best heavy metal song ever recorded so it all balances out.

Yeah bro I feel ya. The first album you listen to from a band always stays with you.

“Yeah bro I feel ya. The first album you listen to from a band always stays with you.”

Guess it depends, nostalgia doesn’t usually factor in too much for me personally. For example Blackwater Park was the first Opeth I heard almost 12 years ago, but it’s pretty far down in my rankings now.

I'm genuinely sick of people calling Powerslave's middle filler when it just isn't.
