I'm still absolutely astounded at this record

"I guess what I’m saying is that this isn’t Interpol or some shit. Surely when you play The Seer, and a portal opens up in your living room floor and you and I make animal gestures at one another, a numerical score won’t be a part of our conversation. This is a majestic, ambitious record, and the best thing an already incredible band has ever released. The rest is noise."

Okay, this is my first attempt at listening to this album, i've heard select tracks from them many years ago and thought they were absolute shit. Im up to track 4 (the seer) and have been nothing short of unimpressed so far, however im really liking the first 5min of this track

Considering the first three tracks are awesome, I would say that a first time listen is irrelevent considering the density of the music. Give it time, and it will pay off.
