Raven is better but this one is well, great. How the fuck I lost all that time on average PT discs when I

could have just heard SW solo stuff

Yeah idk I think this is my favorite SW so far. Feels more experimental than his two latest, though maybe less focused. Gotta forgive a slightly bloated double album.

Deform to Form a Star is one of his best ballads.

Deform to Form a Star is one of his most beatiful compositions in my opinion. Although this feels more disjoncted, as a whole I think it is equal to the new one for me.

This is a fantastic record, and the perhaps less cohesive structure still works brilliantly for me; Postcard is amazing but there are many other songs like Deform to Form a Star, Raider, Remainder and Like Dust that I'd still count among my favorites from his solo career

Nic France's drumwork is the best out of all SW solo albums. Great groove, finesse, and creativity. Underrated performance, more memorable than Minneman for me

Minnemann's performances always feel so spontaneous though, but I think I agree, France's appropriately loose jazzy work - and especially his drums' sound - were substantial to establishing the album's eerie and organic atmosphere

Minneman may be spontaneous but he didn't bring the subtlety that Nic brought on tracks like Remainder the black dog.

postcard is nice [2]. Haven't heard this in a while, so I need to re-listen. There are some other goods parts on here from what I recall, like the heavy midsection of "Track One" and the solo section of "Remainder the Black Dog".
