yes indeed, renaissance was easily the best symphonic prog band. every song feels like a play, full of wonder and majesty yet grounded with a superb rhythm section. the bass playing is the secret sauce that many a casual listen may not pick up on at first glance, but with subsequent listens it shall start to unravel what is hooking them specifically. ah yes

also annie but thats too obv so

Yea I admit barely noticing rhytmics first time around. The second side prolly needs dozen more listens to start to unfold. Yea lets not discuss Annie. I like to imagine we are married while I listen her singing.

The second side sure is amazing as well. It's what makes this record so very distinctive even for this band. Now I has to say I'm loving these rhytmics mixed with orchestra. They didn't just mix symphonics and prog but made something special and their own. It's a masterpiece folks.

They rule hard. Fun fact; I included them to the database.

No merit to me. I'm swimming into prog since ever, and so I built a huge database in no time.

Always nice to see this bumped, it's been too long since I jammed this. Will have to make time for a spin this week.

KILL knew. From a distinctly alien world where prog was actually fun and remembered to bring the cohesion and the hooks. And yeah the lasses' voice is phenomenal. Great find. Cheers tect

The suite is a little harder to penetrate but it's certainly growing on me. The rest? Wow.

some of the basslines on this thing are bloomin marvellous I must say. Easily digestible for the most part, very 'listenable' yet hidden depth aplenty here

Extremely tempted to bump, as this is likely an enduring all-timer and sometimes when you know, you know
