ā€œJuneā€ is so so SO good. Chock full of classic moments and fleeting hooks. I haven’t listened to a full Destroyer album since Kaputt (which has aged incredibly well for me), but I’ll be giving the new one a spin for sure

God, Suicide Demo for Kara Walker always puts me in a big state of trance. So glad I always randomly find this record in my library.

So I have been listening to this retrospectively after discovering Destroyer through Labyrinthitis. After 15 or so listens I feel I can comment, even if it seems premature to those who have loved Kaputt for a decade.

I love it. The only niggle I have is that The Laziest River and Bay of Pigs - although both stunning - kind of feel tacked on at the end and not really in keeping with the feel and atmosphere of the first 8 songs.

But maybe I'll feel differently after another 50 listens or so...

Yeah, I’d say ā€˜Laziest River’ and ā€˜BoP’ are actually what turn this from a classic neat album into this sprawling otherworldly album it’s hard to get a total grip on.

Both really add to the World building, love them.
