I know it's only rolling stone, but their review for the new album was absolutely raving. October 29 cannot come quick enough.

Even though they have so many members I bet you a certain vocalist gets all the royalties...

"is it absolutely necessary for this band to have so many members"

why would it (or should it) be "absolutely necessary"? music is about creating something with friends, the more the merrier. lots of people bring different approaches to songwriting/playing. you must hate Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

Arcade Fire justify having that many band members with the quality and depth of the music that they make, as well as the incredible energy that they bring to live performances.

I don't love them that much either, I'm just saying you seem to be against the idea of large bands with a lot of multi-instrumentalists.

you might be getting me wrong, i'm not in any way saying it's a bad thing, just based that rush comment on the last few songs i remember hearing which were reflektor and sprawl and modern man and none of them seemed to have that much going on so i was surprised when i saw how many people there were

understand that i haven't spun their albums for like four years and can't remember fuck all else so there's prob heaps of jams with all sorts goin on
