"Any thoughts?"
Discipline is their third best imo, but it sounds nothing like this or the debut

Agree with Pika.
Go Poseidon if you like Court better.
Go Larks if you like Red better.
Understand that both are excellent.

Larks is amazing

can't go wrong with larks discipline or poseidon

‘Court’ through ‘Discipline’ might be the greatest consecutive eight album run of all time. Struggling to think of another one that even comes close.

I'd say Rush but it seems you are not into them so

Still have to get around Larks. Agreed Poseidon is a bit Court 2. Discipline is very different from these 4.

Listen to it.

Larks isn’t necessarily similar to Red, but nothing is *that* similar to Red. However if someone told me they liked Red, my best bet as to what other KC album they’d enjoy would be Larks. They share a lot of the same tendencies in terms of structure and, in a way, tone, though Larks is a bit more primitive. Either way, if you pick any album between 1969 and 1981, you can’t really go wrong

I'd say Starless and Bible Black has some similar moments to Red

I might be alone on this one but i feel every KC album sounds different.

'Go Poseidon if you like Court better.'
I'll just ignore the averages and go chronologically then, starting with Poseidon. Hopefully filling in all the gaps eventually (at least up to Discipline).

Just don't be put off by Lizard, as it's the worst of the bunch.

That's almost always the best way to go Demon
I think Islands is pretty overlooked, it's the most jazz they have ever been without it just relating to technicality or something like that
|

'Islands' is awesome, but I like 'Lizard' a lot, too. It's a good stepping stone between 'Poseidon' and 'Islands' imo.

What's the skinny on that Islands' average then? Painfully low for this site.
Sput can't handle the jazz perhaps?
