fifth, until a real supporting cast is assembled i still don't think Miami has a chance against the Lakers' size and skill next year. i wouldn't put it past Pat Riley to pull off some crazy shit, because i'm sure a bunch of decent players, some mid-level exceptions, will be willing to take a pay cut for the promise to win a title. but we'll have to wait and see

yeah, fuck LeBron. I felt disgusting watching that "special" last night, like I needed to take a shower afterwards. One thing we definitely know now: LBJ is not the next great player in line after Bird, Magic, Jordan and Kobe, nor is he even on the level of an Olajuwon, Duncan or Shaq. LeBron James is a freak athlete with very good basketball skills and IQ (notice how the words "incredible" or "legendary" are not applied to his skill level, as he hasn't worked to add facets to his game over his career). LeBron is much more akin to Julius Erving or Clyde Drexler than he is Magic or MJ, and I believe he knows this.

Why else would he partially sacrifice his reputation and legacy to go play Pippen to Wade's Jordan in Miami? It's because he knows he is either incapable or unwilling to add the necessary improvements to his game in the offseason like Jordan and Kobe were -- which is what made them champions.

My last point is this: since LeBron knows that he isn't even the alpha dog on this super team, and knows he isn't capable of winning as the alpha dog -- why does he think he deserves to call his own one-hour masturbate-in-front-of-the-mirror session on ESPN to announce his decision to the world? Kobe didn't do that, Durant didn't do that, and Wade and Bosh, even though they've acted like tools too, at least only had a little 10 minute interview at noon on a Wednesday for their announcement.

If karma does exist, these guys will either quit on each other by December or will simultaneously blow out their knees in a preseason game in October.

p.s. even with all the vitriol I feel for Pat Riley and the Three My-Egos, I am legitimately happy and congratulatory for the (three or four) true Miami Heat fans out there, including Pit/Nick/Buck.
