Nice review. I ordered this last week at my local music shop in Boulder and it arrived Monday. I'm just waiting for payday so I can go pick it up (as well as Dying Fetus' - "Killing On Adrenaline."). I've been waiting a long time to finally own/hear this album and it's nice to see how much praise it's received for being an essential old school death metal album. Artwork is sick and twisted too

I like this quite a bit but I really don't dig the guitar tone very much. It sounds kind of monotone to me, there's not much texture to it.

I still jam this pretty often hoping one day I'll turn around and say to myself, "damn this guitar tone rules." Hasn't happened yet though.

I prefer the tones on Left Hand Path and Consuming Impulse a lot more.
