Vol. 4 is way better than any Dio era album.

Without them, they would be just average songs tbh

Many won't back you there JT, not that it matters...

I'll back JT in regards to it being better, but definitely not way better

I prob prefer this to HotH.

Dio would probably not be able to pull off Vol 4 as successfully as Ozzy but Ozzy couldn't even dream of pulling off Dio material.
|
| |
Why would Ozzy even want to dream of pulling off infinitely inferior material though?
Sorry, obviously Dio is the better vocalist but the music they created with him just bores the hell out of me these days in comparison to Ozzy-era Sabbath, a.k.a the real Sabbath.

"Why would Ozzy even want to dream of pulling off infinitely inferior material though?"
haha had to see that coming. Vol 4 is far from infinitely superior than Heaven and Hell even though I do get your point. But the fact though that Dio material bores you isn't an objective criterion of inferiority if there is one in art.
|
| |
It's not objective no, I'm just saying I think Ozzy-era Sabbath (including Vol. 4) is infinitely better than any Dio-era Sabbath as I
find the latter boring.

Heaven and Hell is better than V4, in my opinion. V4 has always been a bit overrated, despite having great songs like Supernaut.

I think Vol. 4 is underrated actually. A lot of people on here seem to think its by far the weak link in their classic era.

None of the first 6 albums are weak.
|

Yeah, I guess JT doesn't care much for the Dio Era.

The way I see it, the Dio era is just as much the "real" Sabbath as Mark III Deep Purple is the "real" Deep Purple. Most of the original members are still there.

As long as Tony is in the band the Spirit of Sabbath lives.

This is a very controversial point, but I think Ozzy wrote the better lyrics.
Love can be seen as the answer, but nobody bleeds for the dancer
And it's on and on, on and on and on and on and on and on and on

Even though The Writ was the only song on the first 6 Ozzy wrote lyrics for....
