Ian has another band where they are more successful and probably the other guys have a life/side projects and Ian can´t justify touring Karnivool that much. I honestly think their plan was 2020 new disc, 2021 Sound Awake gigs, and COVID fucked over their plans and they didn´t see the value in releasing a disc they couldn´t tour regardless.
They will maybe release it this year I guess, or 2024, and tour worldwide again maybe. They are just on the EU "regeneration" tour which was originally meant to happen in 2020 lol.
