Best album ever, although the high points of Smile are just as good if not better. Surf's Up >>>> any other BB song for me

Yeah it's high up there. For me it's God Only Knows > Good Vibrations > Wouldn't It Be Nice > Don't Talk > Surf's Up

The Smile Sessions version is slightly superior to the 1971 album version too because Brian sings the whole lead.

I think I'm gonna jam this today. I was trying to go through their discog up until this point, but I wanna listen to this before Summer is over. So I'm gonna cheat. I'll get back to their other stuff though.

Agreed, 2011 version is key. The outro harmonies might be the most beautiful moment I've ever heard on a song

Man, this is such an obvious influence on so many of my favorite artists, and still on its own is perfect.

I 3.5'd it the first time I heard it. If you told me back then The Beach Boys would be one of my favorite bands I'd laugh and say "I listen to SLAYER!" haha

dudes what about heroes and villains? best BB song by far. It accomplishes in three minutes what the beatles tried to do on the last half on Abbey road

haha Abbey Road is overrated as heeeeell but still good obv. The only Beatles that imo is almost Pet Sounds level is Revolver. It's amazing in a different way but still rules.

I think I cry every other time I hear God Only Knows.

I think some of the later Beatles albums, Abbey Road in particular, rival Pet Sounds

I dunno man Abbey Road is really polished but the experimentation took a dip. The Harrison ballads rule though.

nah bro this is state of the art and Abbey Road is kinda retro when compared to what was going on in '69

It has good parts like the End and Golden Slumbers. Could have trimmed the Lennon bluesy stuff imo
