The drummer was the last to be released. He wasn't a guest musician, he was one of the founding members, but he left due to differences with the other two guys.

Johan's case was a far different one. The crew wanted him desperately to continue, but HE didn't wanted. Leif literaly begged him to stay but Johan had made up his mind. Leif believes that he didn't wanted to stay because he never liked this specific genre - he was more into the 80's pop/glam hard rock scene.

Agreed, he's one of the few baritone singers i've heard in the genre. He received some training too. That's one of the reasons he sounds so amazing.

Wow thanks for the details that's pretty interesting! Could have sworn Bergwall was also a founding member, but I guess Wikipedia might be wrong on this one. Regardless, the next lineup rules just as hard, so I suppose it's not that tragic haha

it wasn't a coincidence either, Leif is one of the best music scouters, he always recruits the best that is available for him

if you guys want some more kickass riff-heavy traditional doom with similar subject matter of witches, demons, sorcerers, etc.. check out pagan altar. they even have a song about sauron, called the rising of the dark lord, and it's one of the greatest metal tracks ever

Just saw these guys! Witch Mountain, Black Wizard, Red Fang, and some others opened.

Honestly we left after a couple songs because it was late and they were a bit on the hammy side compared to the skill we just saw displayed in the openers. I don't doubt though that at their prime they were killer.

Pagan Altar definitely need more attention here. Their first two albums desperately need reviews.
