EDIT: My theory: Sputnik is a bunch of repressed teenagers intent on NOT enjoying life to the fullest and bringing each
other down in their own misery... anything that sounds remotely happy or fun must be struck down. Klappy gets out of
line every once in a while, we need to do a better job of chaining down his enthusiasm for life, and fun.

if something tries really hard to be happy and uplifting, everyone is very quick to call it cheesy
but if something is just depressive and dark and bleak all the way through, it is genius
i know what you mean but i don't think that's the case with mono. a lot of their ideas just come across as really contrived. like that tremolo melody in ashes in the snow. i mean yeah its a bootiful song and i like it but goddamn.
