This album definitely has the best song called Here Today about John Lennon

Definitely! And the best song called Second Skin that is not about Lennon.

Had a quick look in Mark's View from a Hill as I don't remember that and didn't find a reference to it through a 5-min skim (although you may very well be right), but I did rediscover that the band's American label cut 4 songs from this record without the band's consent and renamed Up the Down Escalator "There Must Be Something Wrong, Boys".

Not even sure it's my favorite song on this album lol.

But best post punk song is probably Permafrost or The Light Pours Out Of Me

“Second Skin” is def a contender.

I’ve been clicking with this album more and more recently, though I think I still prefer Strange Times - this one is always felt a bit overlong for me, every song is great individually but it starts to get a tad samey in the back half, and those first four tracks are pretty solidly better than anything following aside from a track or two.

I think Here Today might be my favorite on here but so hard to pick 1 every song is at least great

Also people sleep on Is It Any Wonder from Tony Fletcher. My favorite Chameleons song probably

Yeah I mean this would be a 4 even if it was just tracks 5-12. First four tracks are all basically perfect tho. Probably one of the most consistent bands ever song for song, I haven’t heard their comeback stuff but from their main period I don’t think any of their songs is less than very good. Gotta jam Tony Fletcher again…

I wasn’t aware of this band until few years back when I read “My Struggle” by Karl Ove Knausgård. And even then, didn’t click with me instantly, but now I dig this & Strange Times a lot. Still have to check the rest, as well as those Fletcher tracks.

Definitely check WDAM?B, that one’s prob their most ~dreamy~ Most versions of that also have the “In Shreds”/“Nostalgia” single as bonus tracks, which are two of their very best songs.
