I think I like this more than OKC so it is their third best.

disc 2 isn't all that good rabbit imo. really only about 3-4 of the songs are good (great really but still)

bangers and mash is weak I'll agree but everything else is so solid, imo. Plus it just has so so much diversity.

Like "last flowers" is so fragile, delicate and beautiful and it transitions into "up on the ladder" which is gritty, dark and bleeding spite.

Also I forget when and I am not listening to radiohead until the new album is announced but down is the new up has the coolest bridge in the history of music.

I reckon "Last Flowers" is the weakest track off either disk, I'd definitely take Bangers & Mash over it.

bodysnatchers is the best on either disc. Reckoner and videotape are also awesome.

House of Cards

Reckoner, All I Need and Videotape are where it's at. Worst part of the album is in House of Cards where Thom says, "I don't wanna be your friend; I just wanna be your lover." It's terribly painful to hear him sing such a cliche. The rest of the song is fantastic, though, as well as the rest of the album.

@rabbit: Bodysnatchers? Really? I mean it's a great song but it just doesn't seem to have the impact of all the others. It seems to be the fun, upbeat, unchallenging song of the record, which is great, but the best song on the whole thing?

god damn do I agree.

song pisses me off so much.

even Thom bashing away on a drum kit live couldn't sell it for me.

and I agree "Bodysnatchers" may just take the cake.

"fun" seems to be the wrong word to describe any radiohead song

"Fun" relative to Radiohead lol. Idk, it's a fantastic song, but it doesn't hit as hard as so many others imo

It kinda snuck up on me. I just love how beautiful this album is and how decidedly approachable they made it. It's still a Radiohead album, but it seems that they traded in the insane darkness and tension for a prettier, almost more whimsical record, and it really works. If I had to choose only two Radiohead albums to have, it would be this and Kid A.
