well for years, even around the time this came out, people labeled this as sludge, though they knew it was a different type altogether.
some people used to call them progressive sludge back then, I guess that term fits better than just sludge.

I think a lot of that was due to the fact that they toured with a lot of the more traditional sludge bands in the mid-90's.
