I just get really bored in some parts of the new album, but I need to listen to it again anyway.

Intense hyperbole, yes, but seeing super low scores from people who typically like this band makes no sense. I mean, it isn't that different from anything else they've done. Someone back me up.
I've got your back and I would like to point out how you're only fooling yourself if you love Neurosis and hate on their new album. It's like saying "I love Through Blood in Silver but I find Given to the Rising boring." And to all the haters, I have no fucking clue where you get off to hating on a popular band because they're popular.

it isnt very different stylistically then what they've done before. however, as a huge fan of the band, i can safely say the new one is just boring and bland all the way through. Wizard the quote you just typed "I love Through Blood in Silver but I find Given to the Rising boring." is fucking retarded. Not only are those two albums radically different, I can easily see someone falling in love with TSIB and strongly disliking Given to the Rising, and vice versa. I always support my favorite bands when they release a new record, but im not gonna give the record i higher rating than it deserves just because its 'that' band. to me, every neurosis album since souls at zero is great or way beyond great with the exception of ASTNS and the new one. You guys are pretty much saying any fan of the band isn't allowed to dislike this album. Which is fucking retarded

I wasn't saying every fan has to like it...well to some degree I am with my rationalization. But you back yourself up well and I know for a fact you're legit in your dislike. It's more towards the people who hate arbitrarily.
But I still don't see how you dislike it for all that it is ; ).

didnt sound like a cunt, it was a valid statement
@wizard alright here
1. the melodies and guitar work are incredibly dull
2. von till is too dramatic on here and it usually doesn't sound good
3. the opening to the album is easily the most plain, boring song theyve written in a long, long
time
4. no particular stand out track, i do like at the well a lot though
5. ive tried listening to the record multiple times, finished twice, stopped less than halfway like
4 or 5 times, its so boring
6. last two songs are mad boring
7. doesn't have the character or punch that other neurosis albums effortlessly showcase across every
song
8. all is found... straight up sucks
9. use of samples isn't that impressive or impacting, definitely below the quality of how neurosis
has used samples to enhance their songs in the past
its not the worst piece of music ive ever heard, but its painfully mediocre to the point where i may
drop my rating. It's still well put together and has a good flow, even the production (besides how
loud von till always is) is pretty great. the music sucks for the most part though.
hope thats a valid explanation from someone who finds the music and instrumental work incredibly dry
on the new album, ruins the whole thing

i dont just dislike the album to stand out, i had high hopes for it in fact. i dont pretend to like things, if something sucks, i give it a shitty rating. Like when Radiohead released King of Limbs, even though it's got a pretty low overall score, a lot of people still reviewed it with very high ratings. Something makes me think that it was just because it was Radiohead, because I listened to the record twice and it was fucking terrible. and i like the band. and i love this band more. Unfortunately, the new one just sucks imo, neurosis or not
